Vintage Coffins Steamboat Coffin

The Public Broadcasting System (PBS) commissioned me to build a steamboa tcoffin for a feature length documentary film titled 'The Mainstream.' travelled the length of the Mississippi River meeting and talking with interesting and sometimes quirky people along the way. In Hickman, Kentucky, Humorist/author Roy Blount, Jr was launched into the mighty Mississippi in the steamboat coffin pictured here. While the cameras rolled, he mused on life and death along the country's main stream. The coffin is now owned by an actual Mississippi riverboat captain.
